November

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness

Month

This November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. As part of the World Pancreatic Cancer Alliance, the Gut Cancer Foundation (GCF) will join with hundreds of other organisations to ‘Shine A Light’ on pancreatic cancer.

Using personal stories from pancreatic cancer patients and families who have lost loved ones, GCF will highlight this often forgotten cancer with press coverage and an extensive social media campaign. As a voice for all cancers of the digestive system, GCF want to Shine A Light on the urgent need for more funding of research and clinical trials to help improve diagnostics and treatment.

With the PanCan Gala forming the centrepiece of the campaign, GCF is also giving Kiwis the chance to host their own evening of fundraising by launching the Big Purple Dinner and will be asking landmarks around the country to join the Sky Tower and Light It Purple in support of World Pancreatic Cancer Day.
